Foggy morning in Delhi, clear day ahead

It was a cold, foggy morning in Delhi Friday with the minimum temperature settling two notches below average at 5 degrees Celsius. The Met Office has forecast a clear day ahead.

"The day will remain clear though moderate fog was witnessed in the morning," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.

Fog enveloped the national capital in the morning, with visibility dropping to 350 metres at 8.30 a.m., according to the official.

Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 97 percent.

The day's maximum temperature is likely to hover around 18 degrees Celsius.

According to Northern Railway, as many as 39 trains coming to Delhi were running behind schedule. Three trains from here were rescheduled.

Thursday's maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 18 degrees Celsius (three notches below average) and 6.5 degrees Celsius (one notch below average).
