Education Minister DR. Cheema greets on TEACHERS’ DAY

Punjab Education Minister Punjab Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema today extended his warm greetings to the teaching fraternity on the eve of Teachers’ Day and urged them to make all out efforts to infuse the noble qualities of discipline, righteousness, truthfulness, sense of integrity, high character and dedication amongst the students.


In a message on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, which is observed as the birth anniversary of second President of India late Dr. Sarvpalli Radha Krishnan and an eminent academician, statesman and a great philosopher, he said that Dr. Radha Krishnan's contribution in various fields especially in restructuring the education system was unparalleled and unprecedented.


Describing the Teachers as guardians of moral values and socio-economic culture, he said that teachers could play an important role as supportive friend,, philosopher and guide for the students besides imparting value based education to enable them to become ideal citizens of the society. Dr. Cheema assured the teachers that the State Government was making concerted efforts to create a congenial atmosphere to enable them to discharge their duties in an efficient manner.


“This day also reminds us of our responsibilities towards our teaching community. I appeal people to pay due respect to our teachers and recognize their role in the process of nation building,” he reiterated. Chief Parliamentary Secretary (Education) Mr. Inderbir Singh Bolaria also congratulated the teachers on the occasion. In his message he said that the teachers are the iron pillars of the nation who play crucial role in nation building by inculcating high moral and ethical values in the students.
