STORY, SCREENPLAY AND DIALOGUES:
Writer Aryan Saxena comes up with a very normal story of two friends going in life towards good path and bad path, only with a pathetic version of it. The screenplay was really horrible. The story keeps on distracting the audiences as there is no proper flow. The audience cannot connect well to the narration as there is a lot of randomness and improper transitions. It appeared that just for the sake of becoming writer, they have come up with every possible nonsense. Writer failed in almost every aspect, whether its relation of both friends, or with their Mentor and Idol, or their love angle, or their missions in life etc etc. Dialogues were pathetic and really useless, writer tried to get the flavor of North and U.P in the dialogues only to plague the lines further.

PERFORMANCES:
Suniel shetty and Ashutosh Rana should have not done this film, as they have proved their caliber in previous films and this one is only going to hamper their image badly. Akhil Kapur stole the show for the worst acting possible. There was no feel, no emotion and he was so bad that one would wonder whether if he actually knew what his character was all about. Jay Bhanushali showed a little bit about his potential as an actor but was loud at many places and weaker performance; however he really has to work hard. Tia Bajpai and Sasha Aagha were at their worst and adding no glamour or anything to the film. Akhilendra Mishra and Murli Sharma with no scope were bad and have nothing to offer.

DIRECTION, CINEMATOGRAPHY AND EDITING:
The director Anand Kumar instead of improving from his past mistakes after directing ‘Jugaad’ and ‘Zilla Ghaziabad’, he rather wished to stay far away from any improvements. The direction is seriously horrible. Right from the opening scene the director promises you for torture of 2 hours plus in this journey. He tried to make a lame version of ‘Gunday’ by making his lead characters like Ranveer and Arjun, only to come up with his worst version. Also the director was highly inspired by the character of coach Kabir khan from ‘Chak De India’ and has come up with a pathetic character for Suniel Shetty as Major Rathore, coach of Jay Bhanushali. The presentation is haywire, and the audience doesn't know where the film is leading to and what is the motto behind its making. Cinematography is very poor and jerky, and editing is equally pathetic. There are no proper sequential cuts but they are randomly haywire. It really becomes difficult for audiences to connect any parts of the movie.

ACTION, BACKGROUND SCORE AND MUSIC:
Action by Jai Singh Nijjar has nothing to offer. Well, the movie is action oriented as it appears, but it really is sick. Too much of gun firing and violence, which really was not required and it rather appeared just for the heck of it. Kailash Kher comes up with a very average album with not a single track which is a hit or popular among the listeners. Also the background music was useless. Even that was just for the heck of it that some scenes required some background score.

CHOREOGRAPHY, LOCATIONS AND PRODUCTION VALUE:
Choreography was very poor, especially in the desi item number. The locations were pretty okay, which included some scenic places of Pune, Delhi, Kanpur and Mumbai. Production values are of a lower standard.

OUR VERDICT:
Overall, ‘Desi Kattey’ is a total mental torture and a total waste of time and money, we strictly recommend sitting at home or going for some other outing with your family would be a good choice, rather than suffering for more than 2 hours while watching this film.
