Hindus have commended Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak lead Malaysian Government for the Deepavali gift of family visits to the prisoners and inmates.

Distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that it was a nice gesture on the part of Malaysian Government to unite the families on the occasion of Deepavali by allowing the family members of prisoners and inmates to visit them.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, urged Razak to do more for the Hindu community of Malaysia so that they did not feel left out in south-east Asia’s most vibrant economies and had their share in the fruits of its decades of industrial growth.

According to Rajan Zed, Deepavali, the festival of lights, aims at dispelling the darkness and lighting up the lives and symbolizes the victory of good over evil.
