Anurag Kashyap Had To Compromise For ‘Ugly’

According to the rules under the Cigarettes and Tobacco Products Act, it is compulsory for filmmakers to crop or mask any scenes portraying ads of Tobacco or its products.


Anurag Kashyap had been compelling the particular Act to grant him permission for his upcoming film ‘Ugly’. However, the Bombay High Court declined his request as that clearly violates the Act. 

Anurag Kashyap has been fighting this battle against anti-tobacco disclaimer for all the scenes in his most awaited directorial film ‘Ugly’. Nonetheless, he says that he has not given up the issue but he had to compromise. The film casts Rahul Bhat, Ronit Roy, Tejaswini Kolhapure among the others. The film will be releasing on the on the 26th of December, 2014.
