Though Sanjay Kapoor’s maiden production venture didn’t witness stupendous response, it has managed to fare decently at the BO till now…

Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha’s first film together Tevar hit the screens last Friday. Directed by Amit Sharma, this action film was the first big release of this year, but sadly it didn’t get cash registers jingling as expected. The film received mixed response from the critics and did average business on day 1. Over the weekend, the figures were pretty much the same and Tevar showed hardly any growth. In three days, Arjun-Sona starrer ended up collecting approximately Rs 22 crore. And on Monday too the film fared averagely at the ticket windows.

We asked exhibitor-distributor Akshaye Rathi about the Monday collections and he told us, “Its around Rs 3.15 crore.” This means the total domestic box officecollection of Tevar as of now stands at Rs 25.15 crore.

According to Boxofficeindia, “Tevar had a low Monday as it collected around 3.50 crore nett. The film has grossed 25 crore nett in four days and is looking at a first week of around 32-33 crore nett. The drop is around 50% from Friday but the film has been helped by a tax free status in UP where collections have held up well due to this. The drop in Delhi/UP on Monday is around 30-35% compared to much bigger drop in the rest of the country.”

Since Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover’s horror flick Alone is releasing this week, we are pretty sure that the box office collections of Tevar will be affected. So, will Arjun’s film cross the Rs 50 crore at the BO? Only time will tell…
