The awards night was a starry one which saw the likes of Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Shahid Kapoor and many others. Alia is known for her sporting ways and now we know why. The actress shook a leg with host Shah Rukh Khan, as she performed a dancing segment from her film Highway. Dippy, on the other hand, Krumped in her gorgeous black saree alongside Varun Dhawan. Apart from looking stunning, these Bollywood celebs added some more masala with their ways, to this already upbeat night!
They want it glitch free
A show is termed as ‘good’ owing to its smooth functioning. Life OK Screen Awards is one such example, which saw a balanced mix of glamour and efficiency. Be it the dhamkedaar performances by leading celebs or the candour displayed by the hosts, all in all it was one hell’ova night!
The pleasant surprise
It often happens that films from the 100- 200 crore clubs get a mention in the nominations list, side-lining the ventures which actually deserve one. Screen awards, however, recognized the dark horses in the race and gave them due credit. Films like Aankhon Dekhi, Manjunath and Filmistaan were nominated and actors/ actresses from these ventures were rewarded for their splendid performances. We loved how Screen pushed the envelope by awarding Shahid Kapoor- Tabu as the best jodi for Haider!
The good host
When Shah Rukh Khan is on stage, it is hard for one’s attention to get diverted. The superstar hosted a segment from the show and floored us with his wit, charm and confidence. He invested in some harmless leg pulling where the butts of his jokes were Tabu, Alia Bhatt and the oh-so-famous Chunky Pandey. Sidharth Malhotra, on the other hand, looked dapper and played a perfect Casanova to Sonam Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez. Karan Johar was his usual hilarious self as he took off on Parineeti Chopra, saying that Google results displayed her sister Priyanka Chopra’s name when people hit the search button!
They danced like no one’s watching them
Tiger Shroff of Heropanti fame lit up the stage with deadly stunts and dedicated a segment to Michael Jackson. Jacqueline Fernandez, on the other hand, sizzled as she danced to the tunes ofChitian Kalaiyan, Jumme Ki Raat and Sooraj Dooba Hai. New bad boy in B-town, Varun Dhawan, presented a power packed act on his song Jee Karda.
All in all, we were thoroughly entertained!
