Many dance films make it to the screens every year; leave us amazed and leave. But this latest Frieda Pinto starrer is definitely something that’s going bigger than the big. Yes! It’s the Desert Dancer that’s keeping us hooked right now!

Starring Recee Ritchie as the heroic dancer, the film is an exceptional biographical venture that revolves around the life of an Iranian dancer Afshin Ghaffarian. Afshin was one such dancer who had gone against all odds to live his dream as a dancer, in a restricted society like Iran. So the trailer gives us a captivating glimpse of this struggle in one of the best ways possible. Recee is seen taking charge as the lead and is later joined by the gorgeous Frieda and many others who then decide to run a dance company. From closed doors to an open desert, they touch all corners to breathe dance. They try and challenge all odds and in the end, give us a story that drives emotions, drives a dream, drives dance and drives you!

Directed by Richard Raymond, the movie kicks off the opening night of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival at the Arlington Theatre. Also starring Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Cullen and Marmama Corlett, Desert Dancer will release in selected theatres in the US on April 10, before going wide on April 17, this year!
