Canadian soldiers depart for Operation REASSURANCE in Eastern and Central Europe

OTTAWA —

 

Media are invited to attend the departure of approximately 125 Canadian Army soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment (3 RCR), who will depart from 8 Wing Trenton, ON, on March 2, 2015  to join soldiers from 3 RCR currently deployed on Operation REASSURANCE. Rick Norlock, Member of Parliament for Northumberland-Quinte West, will be present as the soldiers embark.

The 3 RCR contingent is a part of 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (2 CMBG), based in Garrison Petawawa, ON. Operation REASSURANCE refers to the military activities undertaken by the Canadian Armed Forces to support NATO reassurance measures through the provision of military capabilities for training, exercises, demonstrations and assigned NATO tasks.

When: Monday, March 2, 2015, at 4:30 p.m. (EST) for a departure at 6 p.m.
Where: 8 Wing Trenton (Canadian Forces Base Trenton)
What: Departure of soldiers for a deployment on Operation REASSURANCE.
