5 things to expect from Ranbir Kapoor-Anushka Sharma’s Bombay Velvet trailer!

March 17, 2015 10:05 AM

Imagine this. Ranbir Kapoor’s action avatar, Anushka Sharma killing it in jazz shoes, Karan Johar’s menacing villainous act and Amit Trivedi’s power packed numbers, topped with Anurag Kashyap’s edgy direction style would make for one heck of a film. Wouldn’t it? This unique collaboration of talented artists was bound to make tremendous buzz. So is the case with Bombay Velvet, helmed by Anurag Kashyap, starring Jr RK, KJo and Anushka in the lead.

Based on the book Mumbai Fables, the film is slated to hit the screens this summer and we hear that makers are planning to unveil the year’s most anticipated teaser in few days time. As you guys excitedly wait for the D-day to arrive when the teaser of Bombay Velvet will finally see the light, I bring you 5 things that I look forward from the teaser:

Ranbir Kapoor’s boxer avatar

It is beyond any smidgeon of doubt that Ranbir Kapoor is a fine young talent in B-town. But his last few films, Besharam and Roy, haven’t done justice to Ranbir’s true potential. And one expects an ace filmmaker like Mr Kashyap to draw out the best from Jr RK . Ranbir has donned a new look for the film, playing a boxer called Johnny Balraj and his first look from the film, which shows him coming at you all guns blazing is a clear cut indication that Jagga Jasoos star is all set to rock in kickass mode.

Karan Johar as lean mean machine

It came as a surprise to many when it was revealed that KJo will be Anurag Kashyap’s baddie in Bombay Velvet. While many had their doubts if Karan had it in him to make a menacing villain, his first look from the film left people awestruck. The warm, cordial looking filmmaker had transformed into a mean looking baddie with bloodshot eyes and a neat moustache. Does KJo manage to keep up the promise and make an impact as a deadly villain would be one of the most anticipated things in the teaser.

Anushka Sharma’s jazzy makeover

Last few months have been great for this leggy lass, as her film PK made insane money at box office and her production venture NH10 opened up to rave reviews. And icing to her success, was the unveiling of her look from Bombay Velvet, where she is playing a jazz dancer from the 60′s. The actress has nailed her role in NH10, making us expect great things from the PK hottie. Also there is rumour that Jr RK and Anushka share seven steamy kisses in the film. I expect to see a glimpse of it in the teaser.

Anurag Kashyap’s vision

Over the last few years, Mr Kashyap has proved that he is one of the finest and most thought provoking filmmakers in the country. And with film set in Bombay of the ’60s, I have complete trust in Kashyap’s vision that he would make a stunning looking film with rich production design and some jaw dropping camera work.

Amit Trivedi’s fantastic soundtrack

Amit Trivedi is one of the sensational young talent in music industry and he gives out his best when collaborated with Anurag Kashyap. Be it some riveting background score or power packed numbers, Amit Trivedi has shown immense talent and I am really looking forward to the soundtrack, wondering what theTrivedi-Kashyap combo has in store for Bombay Velvet.
