Film-maker Guddu Dhanoa has been in the film-making industry since the early 1990s and has given a number of super hit films to the audiences. Guddu is now coming up with his second Punjabi film ‘Ramta Jogi’ as an actor as well as the director. Being made under the banner of Vijayta Films, the film has been produced by Vijay Singh Dhanoa. On Wednesday, there held a press conference at Hotel Park Plaza, Sector-17 where the poster and the teaser of the film were officially released by the special guest, Bobby Deol.
Guddu Dhanoa marked his entry into Bollywood by producing Deewana in the year 1992, starring Rishi Kapoor and Shahrukh Khan. The movie was a hit and so was its music. Then came films like Elaan, Gundaraj, Tu Chor Main Sipahi and Ziddi which gained popularity for not only Guddu but also for the lead actors of these films like Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan and Sunny Deol.Bichhoo and Shaheed were two hits from the Jodi Guddu Dhanoa & Bobby Deol. Since then, he has seen many ups and downs in his career. Guddu said, “The nature of this industry is like that. You can never predict what would happen at the box office. Not only the script and the cast, but there are many other factors which affect the performance of a particular film. I have been an insider in the industry for almost 25 years now and know too much about film-making mechanism. Still as a film-maker, it is my duty to keep going forward entertaining the audience.”
The story and screenplay of ‘Ramta Jogi’ have been penned by Santosh Dhanoa. Lead actor Deep Sidhu and actress Ronica Singh are debuting with this film. Other names in the star cast are Rahul Dev, Zafar Dhillon and Anil Grover. Deep, on this occasion said, “The banner, the director and the whole team of this film is a dream of any new actor. I am quite excited about my debut and happy to be a part of my home film industry. I am looking forward to an adventurous journey through my acting career.” Ronica Singh said “I am very excited about the film”.
Producer Vijay Singh Dhanoa told the media that it is totally a family film. We all are like a family. The family audience will love this film. The story actually connects to every age group and the message is full of love.
Special guest Bobby Deol remarked that the film is being made under their home production banner and it is always a great feeling to connect back to Punjab. Guddu is my brother and I wish him luck for the success of the film. I am sure he will not leave any stone unturned to promote Punjabi cinema worldwide. Singer Sukhwinder Singh has lent his voice for the music of the film and was present at the event too. Sukhwinder told the media little about the film’s music and promised that the Punjabi audience is going to get something exciting to their ears.
Actor Rahul Dev is gradually growing strong in the Punjabi scene with his versatile acting skills. He also has been in the film industry since a long time now and working hard for bringing forward the Punjabi cinema.
The film has been shot in Mumbai and Punjab and would be a blend of both the cultures. On being asked about his experience with this project, Guddu said, “The film was totally a new feeling for me. I hope the audience will like the character. Also I want to share that I got a superb team to work with. All the actors are experts in themselves and know their job well. In these years, I have seen a growing sense of performance among actors. The reason for the same could be the growing competence or (laughing…) maybe the race to the 100-crore club!”
