Karnataka government hands over DK Ravi death case to CBI

Amid mounting pressure to hand over the probe into IAS officer DK Ravi mysterious death to CBI, Karnataka government today announced to transfer the case to the central investigating agency. 

Speaking at the state assembly, Chief minister Siddaramaiah said, "I have decided to hand over the case to CBI for investigation."

 


Congress president Sonia Gandhi had assured in a latter to the IAS officer's wife a fair probe. She had also spoken to the CM over the issue. 

Ravi was found hanging from the ceiling fan at his Bengaluru flat on March 16. According to police it is prima facie a case of suicide. 

But the suicide angle has been rejected by many including the officers family. 

Meanwhile oppotion BJP has questioned the intervention of Sonia Gandhi and said the Congress government was being remote-controlled.

Senior BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa said the chief minister referred the investigation to CBI, due to pressure created by not only people of state but family of DK Ravi.
