Mumbai, Sep 25

"Floor Walker", a film by Charlie Chaplin, has been restored and will be showcased at the 15th edition of the Mumbai Film Festival starting Oct 17 here. Amitabh Bachchan helped in the restoration work by providing financial support.

The eight-day fest is being presented by Reliance Entertainment and is organised by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI).

Filmmaker Ramesh Sippy, also one of the trustees of MAMI, said: "We have a special section of restored films shown in the festival and one of the films is restored by none other than Amitabh Bachchan."

"The film is titled 'Floor Walker' by Charlie Chaplin. Mr. Bachchan funded the restoration work and this shows his love for cinema. If he has taken the trouble to restore the film, then it must be a classic and a masterpiece," added the filmmaker who made the cult film "Sholay" with Amitabh and Dharmendra.

Sippy was speaking at a press conference to unveil the line up of films for the fest.

As many as 200 films from 65 countries will be shown at venues like Liberty Cinema, Metro Big cinemas, Marine Lines and Cinemax, Versova during the festival.
