Big B will be seen promoting horticulture and hasn’t charged anything for it, we hear

Amitabh Bachchan has been seen endorsing quite a few campaigns, be it the fight against polio or promoting Gujarat tourism, he did them free of cost. Now we hear that he will be seen as the face of an initiative by Maharashtra government, to promote horticulture. He took to his blog to convey it to his fans.

Big B wrote on his blog, “The Maharashtra Government and the Minister in charge of Horticulture, Mr Jitendra Awhad, makes me Brand Ambassador for propagating the fruits that the state produces .. it is the No 1 producer of many of the prominent fruits of the country – grapes, oranges, mangoes, onions, pomegranate, and on … and no one knows about it .. so wearing the Maharashtrian ‘pheta’ giving it the entire works ..”

It’s not new for B-townies to endorse brands but we all know the huge amounts they charge, hai na? But Amitabh Bachchan chooses to differ and he has agreed to support this campaign, for free. A source told a daily, “He is doing this free of cost. This is his way of expressing gratitude to the state of Maharashtra, which has given him name and fame.”

The Yudh actor told a daily, “Samaj ke liye… prant ke liye… desh ke liye… koi bhi aise kaam ke liye main fee nahin leta hoon…!!” (I do not charge a fee for any work that I do for society, state or country)

Reportedly, the print campaign has already been done and Amitabh will be shooting for the TV commercial, very soon…
