Rani Mukerji to be honoured for Mardaani!

Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the association of IAS officers will be felicitating Rani Mukerji, we hear. 

 

They wrote to Rani to invite her to Madhya Pradesh for this ceremony which is taking place on September 12 in Bhopal.

Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh was keen to honour Aditya Chopra’s wifey because of her fabulous portrayal of a woman crime branch official and for throwing light on an issue like human trafficking with her recently released film,Mardaani. Shivraj Singh Chouhan was also the first Chief Minister to declare the film tax free in Madhya Pradesh on his own accord. Post that the film got a similar tax free status in other states as well.

The actress not only received rave reviews from audiences and people from the industry but also stood strong at the box office because of positive word of mouth.

Spokesperson of the film confirmed the news by saying, “Rani is overwhelmed with the invite from the CM to felicitate her. She will surely visit Bhopal to accept this honour.”
