SAD sole mantra is ‘lust for power’ says Singla Questions opposite stands taken by SAD for BJP in Punjab & Haryana

Congress Party Candidate from Sangrur Lok Sabha Seat Vijay Inder Singla who has been extended support by Peoples Party of Punjab (PPP) and the Shiromani Akali Dal (Longowal) on Saturday observed that secularism is under threat under BJPs PM nominee Narender Modi leadership and fundamentalist forces in the country are on the rise.

Singla made these remarks while addressing a large number of poll related workers meetings in the villages of Bhadaur area of this constituency.

Singla also observed that Akalis have lost their political credibility by supporting BJP in Punjab and working against them in the neighbouring State of Haryana which also indicated that Akali Dal sole political mantra is – lust for power and not ‘raj nahi sewa’ which has been exposed. Singla stated that it is common knowledge that even in Punjab SAD has never given equal recognition and status to BJP as an alliance partner and how their cadres have been virtually sidelined in the State – which only indicated the basic political philosophy of SAD towards BJP. Singla added that the Akalis have nothing to offer to the electorate as they have failed to keep their poll promises and in such a situation they are only depending on making false development claims and throwing accusations at people who have perspired for working for the welfare of the region. He said that every section of the society is annoyed with the state government led by SAD-BJP alliance.

He added that he is confident about his re-election because of the developmental works done by him during his tenure from 2009 -14 and had trust in the electorate. Singla claimed that the Akalis are trying to misguide the people over the issue of the Development in the region and he is ready to discuss and debate in public on issues concerning Sangrur Lok Sabha at any forum. Lashing against the Akalis he said that where as I struggled to obtain approvals and funds for the development of the area on the other hand the Akali leaders chose to enrich themselves and overlooked the interest of the region for decades.
